Overview

Atorvastatin + batoclimab is an investigational combination of two pharmaceutical agents used together in clinical research settings. Atorvastatin is a small molecule statin that inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, thereby lowering cholesterol synthesis and reducing low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels. Batoclimab is a monoclonal antibody targeting the neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn), which reduces circulating immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies and is under development for autoimmune diseases such as generalized myasthenia gravis. Clinical studies have shown that treatment with batoclimab can cause dose-dependent increases in cholesterol, particularly LDL-C; coadministration of atorvastatin mitigates these increases without significantly affecting the pharmacokinetics of either drug or causing additional safety concerns[1][2][3]. This combination has been studied primarily to address lipid elevations associated with FcRn inhibition by batoclimab.
