Overview

Atorvastatin + enoxaparin is a combination of two pharmaceutical agents used together, though not as a fixed-dose combination product. Atorvastatin is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin) that lowers cholesterol by inhibiting the enzyme responsible for cholesterol synthesis in the liver, thereby reducing low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and overall cardiovascular risk[7][8]. Enoxaparin is a low molecular weight heparin anticoagulant that enhances the inhibition of factor Xa and IIa (thrombin), reducing blood clot formation[3][5]. This combination may be used in clinical settings where both lipid-lowering and anticoagulation are indicated, such as acute coronary syndromes or patients at high risk for thromboembolic events with concurrent dyslipidemia. The drugs act via distinct mechanisms—atorvastatin primarily targets lipid metabolism while enoxaparin acts on coagulation pathways.
