Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HL-040XC is a fixed-dose combination tablet containing atorvastatin (a HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, or statin) and losartan (an angiotensin II receptor blocker, ARB). It is developed for the treatment of patients with both essential hypertension and hyperlipidemia. Atorvastatin lowers cholesterol by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, while losartan lowers blood pressure by blocking the angiotensin II type 1 receptor. The combination aims to address both cardiovascular risk factors in a single therapy[3][4][5][7].
