Overview

ATRA + toripalimab is an investigational combination therapy consisting of all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA), a small molecule differentiation agent, and toripalimab, a monoclonal antibody targeting the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor. ATRA promotes differentiation of malignant cells, particularly in acute promyelocytic leukemia, while toripalimab acts as an immune checkpoint inhibitor by blocking PD-1 on T cells to enhance antitumor immune responses. This combination is being explored for synergistic effects in cancer immunotherapy, leveraging ATRA's ability to modulate the tumor microenvironment and increase tumor immunogenicity alongside the immune activation provided by PD-1 blockade.
