AUMsilence V+ is a self-delivering antisense oligonucleotide (sdASO) platform developed by AUM Biotech for targeted viral RNA knockdown. It is designed to silence viral genes in infected cells, thereby inhibiting virus replication and reducing viral protein production. The technology uses AI-driven design algorithms to select highly conserved and essential regions of viral genomes, maximizing the efficacy of inhibition across various RNA-based viruses such as HIV, influenza, coronavirus, and hepatitis B virus (HBV). Unlike traditional antivirals that target proteins, these ASOs directly bind to and degrade the viral genetic material. The self-delivering property allows efficient entry into both cytoplasmic and nuclear compartments of infected cells without the need for transfection reagents or special formulations. This approach has demonstrated potent knockdown effects in research settings—for example, achieving approximately 85% reduction in HBx expression in HBV-infected hepatocytes—making it a valuable tool for virology research and antiviral therapeutic discovery[1][6].
