Overview

Autologous γδT cells (Institute of Hematology & Blood Diseases Hospital) is an adoptive cell therapy being investigated for the treatment of various hematologic malignancies. The process involves collecting a patient's own γδ T cells through apheresis, followed by ex vivo expansion and activation before re-infusion. γδ T cells are a unique subset of T lymphocytes that combine innate and adaptive immune features, capable of recognizing and killing tumor cells in a major histocompatibility complex (MHC)-independent manner. This allows them to target a broad range of malignant cells that may have escaped conventional αβ T cell detection. The therapy is currently in early-phase clinical development for relapsed or refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL), chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), and peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL).
