Autologous adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) is an experimental cell therapy developed by Celal Bayar University for the treatment of refractory chronic autoimmune urticaria. The procedure involves harvesting MSCs from a patient's own fat tissue, expanding them ex vivo, and then administering them back to the patient via intravenous infusion. The therapy leverages the innate immunomodulatory and immunosuppressive properties of MSCs to target the dysregulated immune pathways and mast cell activation associated with chronic urticaria. It is specifically investigated for patients who do not respond to standard-of-care treatments, such as antihistamines and omalizumab.
