Overview

This autologous cell therapy consists of adipose-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (ADSCs) developed by the Royan Institute for the treatment of premature ovarian failure (POF). The therapeutic process involves harvesting a patient's own adipose tissue via liposuction, isolating the stromal vascular fraction, and expanding the mesenchymal stromal cells in vitro. These cells are then delivered via direct intra-ovarian injection. The mechanism of action is centered on the cells' ability to secrete paracrine factors that create a regenerative microenvironment, promoting angiogenesis, reducing apoptosis in granulosa cells, and stimulating the renewal of folliculogenesis within the damaged ovarian tissue. Clinical evaluation has focused on safety, feasibility, and the potential to restore hormonal balance and ovarian function in women with idiopathic POF.
