Overview

Autologous adipose-derived stromal vascular fraction (AD-cSVF) is a cellular therapy composed of a heterogeneous population of cells, including mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), endothelial progenitor cells, and immune cells, isolated from a patient's own adipose tissue. Developed by Robert W. Alexander, MD, FICS, for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), the therapy is prepared using a closed system (such as the Centricyte 1000) to enzymatically release and concentrate cells from the adipose matrix. When administered intravenously, AD-cSVF is thought to exert systemic anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects that reduce prostatic inflammation and hypertrophy, thereby improving urinary tract symptoms like nocturia, urgency, and incomplete bladder emptying.
