BM-MSCs + fibrin glue + collagen fleece is an autologous, tissue-engineered regenerative biocomplex developed by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki for the treatment of chronic periodontitis. The product consists of autologous alveolar bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs) that are expanded in clean-room facilities under animal-reagent-free conditions. These cells are then seeded onto a collagen fleece scaffold enriched with autologous fibrin glue. The biocomplex is surgically implanted into infrabony periodontal defects, where it acts to regenerate the complex periodontal apparatus, including alveolar bone, cementum, and the periodontal ligament. It has been evaluated in the Phase I/II 'PerioRegen' clinical trial (NCT02449005).
