Overview

Autologous anti-CD19 CAR T cells (Peking University) is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed for the treatment of relapsed or refractory B-cell lymphoma. The therapeutic process involves collecting a patient's own T cells and genetically engineering them to express a CAR that specifically targets the CD19 antigen, a protein consistently expressed on the surface of most B-cell malignancies. Following a lymphodepleting chemotherapy regimen of fludarabine and cyclophosphamide, the engineered cells are re-infused into the patient, typically using a split-dose schedule. Once in the bloodstream, these CAR-T cells recognize and bind to CD19-positive tumor cells, leading to T-cell activation, proliferation, and the targeted destruction of the malignant B cells.
