Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Autologous bone marrow-derived CD34+ CD133+ CD271+ stem cells is a regenerative cell therapy developed by Stem Cells Arabia, utilizing a proprietary isolation protocol known as the "Jordanian Method." The therapy consists of a purified population of adult stem cells harvested from the patient's own bone marrow and enriched for three specific surface markers using the CliniMACS magnetic cell separation system: CD34 (hematopoietic and endothelial progenitor cells), CD133 (primitive hematopoietic stem cells), and CD271 (low-affinity nerve growth factor receptor, a mesenchymal stem cell marker). This multi-lineage combination is designed to provide a synergistic therapeutic effect through both direct differentiation and, more prominently, the paracrine secretion of neurotrophic, angiotrophic, and immunomodulatory factors such as BDNF and CNTF. The therapy is primarily indicated for the treatment of retinitis pigmentosa, where it is administered via intravitreal injection to preserve photoreceptors and stabilize the retinal environment. It is also being investigated for the treatment of type 1 diabetes, spinal cord injury, and liver cirrhosis, employing various routes of administration to facilitate tissue regeneration in the targeted organs.
