Overview

This is an investigational autologous cell therapy developed by Al-Azhar University for the treatment of non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA). The therapy involves harvesting mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) from a patient's own bone marrow, culturing them under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) conditions using autologous serum, and then transplanting them into the testicular tissue via intratesticular injection (specifically into the rete testis). The therapeutic goal is to restore spermatogenesis within the seminiferous tubules by activating or enhancing the resident spermatogonial stem cells, potentially leading to the production of motile sperm in patients who previously lacked them.
