Overview

Autologous bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) is an investigational cell therapy developed by Sayed Bakry and researchers at Al-Azhar University for the treatment of premature ovarian failure (POF). The therapeutic process involves aspirating bone marrow from the patient's iliac crest, isolating and culturing the mesenchymal stem cells in autologous serum, and then suspending the purified cells in platelet-rich plasma (PRP). This preparation is then laparoscopically injected into the ovarian tissue and ligaments. The mechanism of action is based on the regenerative potential of stem cells to replenish damaged ovarian tissue and restore hormonal and reproductive function in women under 40.
