This is an autologous cell therapy consisting of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) developed by the University of São Paulo. It is being investigated as a biological adjuvant to enhance healing during arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, specifically for patients with isolated full-thickness supraspinatus tears. The cells are harvested from the patient's bone marrow and applied at the tendon-bone interface at the end of the surgical procedure to promote regenerative healing and reduce the risk of retears. The therapy is currently being evaluated in a Phase 2 randomized prospective study to assess its impact on tendon integrity and clinical outcomes.
