The treatment aims to accelerate bone regeneration and mineralization within the distraction callus, thereby shortening the consolidation phase and the overall duration of external fixation. MSCs provide a population of osteogenic progenitor cells capable of differentiating into bone-forming cells, while the PRP serves as a bioactive scaffold and a concentrated source of growth factors—such as transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)—which stimulate cell proliferation, chemotaxis, and angiogenesis.
