Overview

Autologous CD133+ bone marrow endothelial progenitor cells (BM-EPCs) is a personalized cell-based biologic therapy. It involves harvesting the patient's own bone marrow, isolating CD34+/CD133+ progenitor cells, and re-administering them via intra-arterial infusion. These cells possess vasculogenic and regenerative properties, intended to induce therapeutic angiogenesis and vasculogenesis in ischemic tissues. The therapy is primarily investigated for treating chronic critical lower-limb ischemia (CLI) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, aiming to improve limb perfusion, promote ulcer healing, and reduce amputation rates.
