This is an autologous dendritic cell vaccine developed by Edward Ziga in collaboration with the HGG Immuno Group for the treatment of pediatric brain tumors. The therapy involves collecting a patient's peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) via leukapheresis, which are then differentiated into dendritic cells. These cells are partially matured and administered intradermally at sites pre-treated with topical imiquimod, a Toll-like receptor 7 (TLR7) agonist, to enhance in situ maturation and immune activation. The vaccine is used in conjunction with autologous tumor lysate to provide a broad range of tumor-associated antigens, aiming to induce a robust anti-tumor T-cell response against refractory central nervous system tumors.
