Autologous dendritic cell vaccine + psma peptide + klh is an investigational cancer immunotherapy developed by the Queensland Institute of Medical Research (QIMR) for the treatment of hormone-refractory (castration-resistant) prostate cancer. The vaccine is composed of a patient's own dendritic cells, which are harvested and loaded ex vivo with synthetic peptides derived from the Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA). Keyhole Limpet Haemocyanin (KLH) is included as a helper antigen to enhance the overall immunogenicity of the vaccine. Once re-administered to the patient, these primed dendritic cells present PSMA antigens to the immune system, specifically activating T-cells to recognize and eliminate prostate cancer cells that overexpress PSMA.
