Overview

Autologous dendritic cell therapy is a personalized cellular immunotherapy being developed by China Medical University for the treatment of gastrointestinal tumors. The therapy involves the ex vivo expansion and maturation of a patient's own dendritic cells, which are then re-infused to serve as professional antigen-presenting cells. These cells are designed to present tumor-associated antigens to the patient's T cells, thereby stimulating a targeted anti-tumor immune response. In clinical studies, these cells are often administered alongside natural killer (NK) cells and PD-1 checkpoint inhibitors to enhance therapeutic efficacy in patients with advanced digestive tract cancers.
