**Autologous dendritic cells-St. Luke's Medical Center-renal cell carcinoma** refers to an individualized autologous dendritic-cell cancer vaccine evaluated by St. Luke's Medical Center in metastatic stage IV renal cell carcinoma. Dendritic cells were generated from each patient's collected cells and exposed ex vivo to that patient's tumor lysate and keyhole limpet hemocyanin before intradermal administration. The intended mechanism was antigen presentation and induction of tumor-directed cellular immune responses against the heterogeneous antigen repertoire present in the patient's renal cell carcinoma. The product was studied alone and after non-myeloablative fludarabine conditioning in a randomized phase II pilot trial.
