A combination immunotherapy consisting of an autologous dendritic cell-based cancer vaccine and Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG). The autologous dendritic cell component is produced by isolating a patient’s own dendritic cells and loading them ex vivo with antigens derived from the patient’s own tumor cells (autologous tumor antigens), often from self-renewing or short-term cultured tumor lines. This approach aims to induce or enhance immune responses specifically targeting the patient's cancer[1][3][5]. The mechanism involves activation of T-cell mediated immunity, particularly TH1/TH17 responses, leading to anti-tumor effects. BCG is a live attenuated strain of Mycobacterium bovis originally developed as a tuberculosis vaccine but also used as an immunotherapy for bladder cancer and other malignancies. It acts by stimulating both innate and adaptive immune responses against tumors[6][8]. When combined, these therapies are intended to synergistically boost anti-tumor immunity through complementary mechanisms.
