This is an investigational autologous immunomodulatory dendritic cell vaccine developed by Innovative Cellular Therapeutics for the treatment of brain cancers, specifically glioblastoma (GBM) and diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG). The therapy is a personalized cancer vaccine that uses the patient's own dendritic cells as the active ingredient. These dendritic cells are pulsed ex vivo with tumor-associated antigens and neoantigens, which may be derived from genetically modified tumor cells or identified through whole exome sequencing of the patient's tumor. The vaccine is administered via injection and works by presenting these antigens to the immune system to activate tumor-specific T cells, thereby inducing a strong anti-tumor immune response. The safety and efficacy of this approach were evaluated in a Phase I clinical trial (NCT03914768).
