The therapy is designed to treat **acute myocardial infarction (AMI)** and **chronic ischemic coronary artery disease (CAD)** by promoting myocardial regeneration, enhancing neovascularization (angiogenesis), and improving left ventricular function through paracrine effects and potential cell integration. The clinical development was highlighted by the **TOPCARE-AMI** and **TOPCARE-CHD** trials, which were among the first randomized studies to demonstrate the safety and potential efficacy of intracoronary cell transplantation in humans.
