Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A preclinical **dual-modality magnetic resonance and fluorescence imaging probe** comprising fluorescently labeled avidin noncovalently complexed with up to four biotinylated G2 PAMAM dendrimers bearing chelated gadolinium(III). The gadolinium is coordinated by 1B4M-DTPA on the dendrimer scaffold, providing MRI contrast, while the avidin-associated fluorophore enables optical imaging. In mice bearing ovarian cancer tumors, the avidin-biotin-dendrimer system accumulated in tumors and generated detectable MRI and fluorescence signal changes. It was reported as an experimental tumor-targeted imaging construct, not as a marketed diagnostic product.
