Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AVOVA-1 + granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor is a combination immunotherapy for advanced ovarian, fallopian tube, and primary peritoneal carcinoma. AVOVA-1 is an autologous dendritic cell vaccine preparation where dendritic cells are loaded with autologous tumor-associated antigens isolated from the patient’s own tumor-initiating cells[1][3][9]. This vaccination aims to present patient-specific tumor antigens to the immune system, stimulating an adaptive immune response against residual tumor cells. Granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) is included as an immune adjuvant to enhance dendritic cell function and promote immune activation. This platform is developed primarily by AiVita Biomedical and its partners, and targets patients following standard debulking surgery and chemotherapy. The combination is being studied in Phase II clinical trials for recurrent or advanced epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube, and primary peritoneal carcinoma after primary therapy[1][3][7][9].
