Overview

Axitinib + docetaxel + carboplatin is a combination regimen of three anticancer agents used in clinical research for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. Axitinib is a potent and selective second-generation inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFRs), which blocks angiogenesis, thereby inhibiting tumor blood vessel formation and growth. Docetaxel is a taxoid antineoplastic agent that binds to the β-subunit of tubulin, stabilizing microtubules and preventing their depolymerization, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. Carboplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapeutic that forms DNA adducts, inhibiting DNA replication and transcription, ultimately inducing cell death. This combination has been studied in phase I trials for its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary antitumor activity across multiple solid tumor types[1][2][6].
