AZD2811 + durvalumab is an investigational combination therapy composed of AZD2811, a nanoparticle-formulated, potent, and selective inhibitor of Aurora kinase B, and durvalumab, a human monoclonal antibody targeting PD-L1. AZD2811 inhibits Aurora kinase B, disrupting mitotic progression and promoting apoptosis in tumor cells. Durvalumab blocks the interaction of PD-L1 with PD-1 and CD80, thereby enhancing antitumor immune responses by promoting T-cell activity. The combination is being studied primarily as maintenance therapy after induction with platinum-based chemotherapy combined with durvalumab for the first-line treatment of extensive stage small-cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC)[1][3][5].
