Overview

AZD4635 + durvalumab is a combination therapy that pairs an adenosine 2A receptor (A2AR) antagonist (AZD4635) with an immune checkpoint inhibitor (durvalumab). AZD4635 works by inhibiting the adenosine 2A receptor, which diminishes the immunosuppressive effects of adenosine in the tumor microenvironment. Durvalumab is a PD-L1 inhibitor that helps restore anti-tumor immune responses. This combination was developed to potentially enhance immune responses against cancer cells, particularly in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC).
