AZD5423 + formoterol

**AZD5423 + formoterol** is a combination of two inhaled medications under investigation for respiratory conditions, primarily **chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)**. **AZD5423** is a novel inhaled, selective glucocorticoid receptor modulator (SGRM) developed to reduce airway inflammation with potentially fewer systemic side effects compared to traditional corticosteroids. **Formoterol** is a long-acting beta2-adrenergic receptor agonist (LABA), already widely used in asthma and COPD as a bronchodilator to relax bronchial smooth muscle and improve airflow. In trials, patients received **AZD5423** on a background therapy of formoterol to assess efficacy and safety in COPD. As of current knowledge, AZD5423 + formoterol has been studied in phase 2 clinical trials and is not yet approved for any indication.
