Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Synmosa Biopharma's azelastine/fluticasone nasal spray is a generic version of Dymista, a fixed-dose combination therapy for perennial allergic rhinitis. It combines azelastine hydrochloride, a selective H1-receptor antagonist, with fluticasone propionate, a corticosteroid. This dual-action formulation addresses both the histaminergic and inflammatory pathways of allergic rhinitis to alleviate symptoms like congestion, sneezing, and itching. Synmosa has evaluated this product in Phase 2 trials to demonstrate therapeutic equivalence to the branded reference.
