AZIBER-SF KIT is a combination drug product developed and marketed by Calibar Pharmaceuticals, primarily used for the syndromic management of vaginal discharge and pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). The kit contains three distinct active pharmaceutical ingredients: azithromycin, fluconazole, and secnidazole. Azithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. Fluconazole is an azole antifungal agent that targets the fungal enzyme lanosterol 14-alpha-demethylase, thereby disrupting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. Secnidazole is a nitroimidazole anti-infective effective against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa; it is reduced within the target organism to reactive intermediates that cause DNA strand breakage. This combination is designed to provide broad-spectrum coverage against common pathogens involved in reproductive tract infections, including *Chlamydia trachomatis*, *Neisseria gonorrhoeae*, *Candida* species, *Trichomonas vaginalis*, and various anaerobic bacteria associated with bacterial vaginosis.
