Overview

This entry refers to a combination of the nucleoside analog azvudine and the antibiotic trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole; however, clinical and pipeline data from Genuine Biotech indicate that the intended therapeutic combination for lymphoma is **azvudine plus cyclophosphamide (CTX)**. Azvudine is a small molecule DNA synthesis inhibitor and immunomodulator that terminates DNA chain elongation in malignant cells. In the lymphoma program, it is combined with cyclophosphamide, an alkylating agent that cross-links DNA, to achieve synergistic anti-tumor effects. Preclinical studies of the azvudine/cyclophosphamide combination demonstrated complete tumor elimination in lymphoma models. Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole is typically used as prophylaxis against opportunistic infections (such as Pneumocystis pneumonia) in immunocompromised patients but is not the primary chemotherapy agent in this regimen.
