Overview

This is a combination probiotic product containing Bacillus licheniformis and Bifidobacterium bifidum, both of which are well-studied probiotic bacteria. Bacillus licheniformis is a gram-positive, spore-forming bacterium known for its resilience and ability to produce digestive enzymes such as proteases, amylases, and cellulases. Bifidobacterium bifidum is an anaerobic bacterium commonly found in the human gut microbiota and associated with various health benefits. Together, these probiotics act primarily by modulating the gut microbiome, enhancing intestinal barrier function, reducing inflammation through downregulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines (such as IL-1α, IL-6, IL-8), upregulation of anti-inflammatory cytokines (such as IL-10 and TGF-beta), supporting immune regulation (including modulation of Th2-driven responses), inhibiting oxidative stress pathways, and improving gastrointestinal health during pathogen invasion or inflammatory conditions[2][5]. This combination has been studied for its potential benefits in gastrointestinal disorders such as ulcerative colitis[1][2], where it may help induce remission or reduce disease severity.
