Overview
Baofei + Bufeijianpi + Bufeiyishen granules are a set of three Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulations developed by Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The treatment protocol employs syndrome differentiation, a core principle of TCM, where patients are assigned one of the three formulations based on their specific clinical presentation: Baofei granules for lung qi deficiency, Bufeijianpi granules for pulmonosplenic qi deficiency, and Bufeiyishen granules for lung and kidney qi insufficiency. These herbal extracts are administered as oral granules and have been evaluated in clinical trials to assess their efficacy in reducing the frequency of acute exacerbations and improving lung function and quality of life in patients with mild to moderate COPD.
