Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**BARS13** is an investigational recombinant respiratory syncytial virus vaccine developed by Advaccine Biopharmaceuticals Suzhou for prevention of respiratory syncytial virus infection. The intramuscular vaccine contains recombinant, non-glycosylated respiratory syncytial virus attachment glycoprotein G produced in *Escherichia coli* as its antigenic component, together with cyclosporine as an immunomodulatory component. It is designed to induce RSV G protein-specific immune responses while using cyclosporine to modulate T-cell responses associated with the historical risk of vaccine-enhanced disease. BARS13 has completed Phase 1 evaluation in healthy adults and a randomized Phase 2 safety and immunogenicity study in adults aged 60 to 80 years.
