Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**BBIBP-Corv + IIV4 + PPV23** refers to the concomitant or sequential administration of three vaccines: the inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine known as BBIBP-CorV (developed by Sinopharm), the inactivated quadrivalent influenza vaccine (IIV4), and the 23-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PPV23). BBIBP-CorV is an inactivated whole-virus COVID-19 vaccine inducing immunity by presenting inactivated SARS-CoV-2 antigens to the immune system. IIV4 is an inactivated split-virion vaccine targeting four seasonal influenza virus strains, providing antibody-mediated immunity. PPV23 contains purified polysaccharides from 23 pneumococcal serotypes and induces serotype-specific IgG responses to protect against invasive Streptococcus pneumoniae infection. This combination is intended for broad protection against COVID-19, influenza, and pneumococcal disease, especially in older adults, with demonstrated safety and satisfactory immunogenicity when administered together or sequentially in adults[1][2][3].
