BCMA CAR-T + huCART19 is an investigational combination cellular immunotherapy developed by the University of Pennsylvania's Abramson Cancer Center. This autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy consists of two distinct products administered together: CART-BCMA, which targets B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) primarily expressed on malignant plasma cells, and huCART19 (also known as CTL119), a humanized CAR-T product targeting the CD19 antigen. By simultaneously targeting BCMA and CD19, the therapy aims to provide a more comprehensive anti-tumor response and mitigate the risk of antigen escape in patients with multiple myeloma. The combination is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials as a consolidation therapy for high-risk multiple myeloma patients responding to initial treatments, as well as for those with relapsed or refractory disease.
