BD0801 + doxorubicin liposome is a combination therapy consisting of BD0801, a next-generation humanized monoclonal antibody that targets vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and doxorubicin liposome, a pegylated liposomal formulation of the anthracycline chemotherapy agent doxorubicin. BD0801 is engineered for high affinity and potency against VEGF, aiming to inhibit tumor angiogenesis, thus restricting tumor blood supply and growth. Doxorubicin liposome delivers doxorubicin encapsulated in liposomes, modifying tissue distribution and extending circulation time in the body, while reducing cardiotoxicity and enabling targeted delivery to tumors. The combination is being evaluated for enhanced anti-tumor effects in solid tumors, particularly platinum-resistant ovarian cancer. BD0801 was discovered by Apexigen and is developed in China by Simcere Pharmaceutical; the combination is in Phase 3 clinical trials for ovarian cancer.
