Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**BDB001 + atezolizumab** is a combination therapy of BDB001, a novel Toll-like receptor 7/8 (TLR7/8) agonist, and atezolizumab, a programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) inhibitor (marketed as Tecentriq). BDB001 acts as an immune activator aiming to stimulate innate and adaptive immune responses, while atezolizumab is a monoclonal antibody that inhibits the PD-L1/PD-1 pathway, restoring T-cell activity against tumor cells. This combination is being investigated as an immunotherapeutic strategy for patients with advanced or metastatic solid tumors who are refractory to, or have relapsed from, standard therapies. Clinical trials explore its use with or without radiotherapy across multiple solid tumor types, including pancreatic cancer, virus-associated tumors, anti-PD-1/L1 refractory cancers, soft-tissue sarcoma, bladder cancer, and triple-negative breast cancer[1][3][4][5][6].
