Beclometasone dipropionate + formoterol fumarate dihydrate + glycopyrronium bromide (CHF 5993) is an inhaled, fixed-dose triple combination therapy developed by Chiesi Farmaceutici. It is marketed under the brand name Trimbow (and formerly Riarify) for the maintenance treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. The formulation combines three active ingredients with complementary mechanisms of action: beclometasone dipropionate, an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) that reduces airway inflammation; formoterol fumarate dihydrate, a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) that induces bronchodilation; and glycopyrronium bromide (also known as glycopyrrolate), a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA) that prevents bronchoconstriction. Administered via a pressurized metered-dose inhaler (pMDI) or dry powder inhaler (DPI) as an extrafine formulation, this triple therapy improves lung function and reduces the frequency of exacerbations in patients with moderate-to-severe obstructive airway diseases.
