Overview
This is a combination of beclometasone dipropionate (a corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory and vasoconstrictive effects) and propranolol (a nonselective beta-adrenergic receptor antagonist). The interaction between these two drugs is clinically significant as beclometasone dipropionate may reduce the effects of propranolol in lowering blood pressure. Beclometasone works primarily in the lungs to improve lung function and decrease airway hyper-reactivity in conditions like asthma, while propranolol blocks beta-adrenergic receptors leading to effects such as reduced heart rate and blood pressure.
