Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bell's Paracetamol Elixir is an over-the-counter oral liquid formulation of paracetamol (acetaminophen) developed and manufactured by Bell's Healthcare. It is formulated as an elixir containing 120 mg of paracetamol per 5 mL, designed primarily for pediatric use to relieve mild-to-moderate pain and reduce fever (such as teething, headache, toothache, and post-immunization pyrexia). Paracetamol acts predominantly in the central nervous system, where it is believed to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis by interacting with cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, thereby exerting its analgesic and antipyretic effects.
