Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of bendamustine and capecitabine. Bendamustine is a cytotoxic alkylating agent while capecitabine is a fluoropyrimidine carbamate antimetabolite that functions as a prodrug of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU). This combination has shown promising efficacy and moderate toxicity in clinical trials for pretreated patients with HER2-negative advanced breast cancer. In the AGMT MBC-6 phase II trial, the combination demonstrated an overall response rate of 53% and a clinical benefit rate of 60%, with a preliminary median progression-free survival of 8.9 months.
