Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bendamustine + gemcitabine is a chemotherapy combination regimen used as a salvage therapy for patients with recurrent/refractory Hodgkin lymphoma. This doublet has demonstrated efficacy with an overall response rate of 69% and complete response rate of 46% in phase 2 clinical trials. The recommended phase 2 dose is gemcitabine 1000 mg/m² on day 1 and bendamustine 120 mg/m² on days 1 and 2, administered every 21 days for up to 6 cycles. While effective, patients must be monitored closely for pulmonary toxicity, as grade 3-5 pulmonary adverse events have been reported in clinical trials.
