Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Oragud and Gositis are topical oral antiseptic and analgesic combination products marketed by Genspec Lifesciences. Each 15ml of the oral rinse contains 22.5mg of benzydamine hydrochloride and 18mg of chlorhexidine gluconate. Benzydamine is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that provides local analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokines and exerting local anesthetic activity through sodium channel blockade. Chlorhexidine gluconate is a broad-spectrum antiseptic that kills microorganisms by disrupting their cell membranes. These products are indicated for the treatment of oral mucosal pain and inflammation associated with conditions such as gingivitis, stomatitis, and sore throat, as well as for general oral antisepsis. They are approved and commercially available in India.
