Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GERAKS is a fixed-dose combination oral topical product containing the antiseptic chlorhexidine gluconate (0.12%) and the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) benzydamine hydrochloride (0.15%). Developed by Osko, it is indicated for the treatment of oral mucosal conditions, including mouth ulcers, gingivitis, and general oral irritation. Benzydamine provides local analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-alpha and IL-1beta, while chlorhexidine acts as a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent by disrupting microbial cell membranes. The product is available in both oral spray and mouthwash formulations for direct application to the oral mucosa.
