Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination of two small molecule drugs, berberine (盐酸小檗碱) and celecoxib (塞来昔布). Berberine is an isoquinoline alkaloid derived from plants such as Coptis chinensis, commonly used in China for its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, particularly in gastrointestinal disorders. Its mechanisms include inhibition of bacterial DNA synthesis and modulation of inflammatory pathways. Celecoxib is a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor classified as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), primarily used to treat pain and inflammation associated with arthritis and other conditions by blocking prostaglandin synthesis via COX-2 inhibition[7]. The rationale for combining these agents would be to leverage the complementary antimicrobial/anti-inflammatory effects of berberine with the potent anti-inflammatory action of celecoxib. There are no widely recognized brand or code names for this specific combination; it appears to be an investigational or off-label pairing rather than a marketed fixed-dose product.
