Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A novel nutraceutical combination of oat-derived beta-glucan (BG) and a decaffeinated, phenol-rich green coffee extract (GCPE), designed to provide both soluble dietary fiber and polyphenols. Beta-glucans are known for their cholesterol-lowering effects and potential benefits on glycemic control. Green coffee phenolic extracts are rich in hydroxycinnamates (notably chlorogenic acids) with antioxidant properties that may influence lipid metabolism. This combination has been studied primarily for its potential to improve cardiometabolic risk factors such as cholesterol levels, blood pressure, glucose homeostasis, and body composition in overweight or obese individuals. Clinical studies have shown modest improvements in some biomarkers but no significant effect on body composition without lifestyle changes[2][5][6].
