The combination acts through multiple mechanisms: inhibition of tumor angiogenesis (bevacizumab), interference with DNA synthesis and repair (5-fluorouracil and oxaliplatin), and rescue/potentiation of 5-fluorouracil cytotoxicity (leucovorin)[1][2][3].
